What a NaijaClan verification is. And what it is not.

Draft — pending counsel review. This page states the operating scope the company is built to. Final wording is settled by counsel before launch; the substance below is the design constraint the business runs on, published now so customers can judge it.

A verification report IS

  • A factual record of stated checks: what named registries and offices returned, what documents were seen, what a dated physical visit observed, and what named categories of people said — each claim cited to its exhibit and graded by source.
  • Issued under the published checklist and evidence standard, reviewed by a person who did none of the field work.
  • Entered, on issue, on the public verification register, where its status — including any later correction — remains visible.

A verification report is NOT

  • Not a legal opinion or title assurance. It does not certify title, and it is not a substitute for an enrolled Nigerian legal practitioner engaged by the client, who alone gives legal advice and prepares transaction documents.
  • Not a survey. Survey content in a report is the work of the SURCON-registered surveyor named on it, and is relied on as that professional's work.
  • Not a guarantee. Records can be wrong at their source; a visit is a dated observation; events after the search and visit dates are outside the file. Findings grade the evidence — they do not abolish risk.
  • Not medical care or advice (ClanCare files), not money transmission (ClanPay files), and not engineering certification (ClanTalent files — production work product for review and seal by the client's licensed professional where required).

Reliance

Reports are prepared for the commissioning client and the family seats they authorise. A third party shown a report should check its register status and read its scope section — every report carries one — before relying on it for anything.
